Florida’s Space Coast Expands Access To Advanced Cardiology Screening with Arrival of SpotLight™ Scanner

Arineta, a leader in advancing cardiovascular imaging solutions, shares the installation of its SpotLight™ cardiac CT scanner at Heart Care Centers of Florida (HCCF) in Merritt Island, Florida. With this scanner now on-site, HCCF can improve both the accuracy and speed of treatment for its unique patient population.

Along with its second location in Titusville, HCCF serves a diverse patient population, including the East Coast’s aging population, year-round residents, snowbirds, and other visitors. The arrival of the SpotLight, a 560-slice scanner, enables HCCF to deliver superior image quality and more effectively capture complex patient cases than other high performance cardiac CT scanners available in the local area.

Dedicated to educating patients about their cardiovascular disease risk, HCCF has been an advocate for the use of cardiac CT as a powerful diagnostic tool that surpasses traditional diagnostics like calcium scoring, stress tests, or EKGs. Able to capture images of the entire heart in the span of just one beat, the SpotLight is particularly effective for patients with irregular heart rates, delivering unmatched speed and double the amount of cross-sectional images than other local scanners.

“We are very proud to be the first to bring this level of cardiac imaging to the East Coast, with no other scanner of this caliber being available within a 50-mile radius,” said Ravi Rao, MD, lead cardiologist of HCCF. “Florida’s Space Coast is a hub for pioneering advances in technology and science, and we continue that legacy through offering unparalleled diagnostic tools for our patients.”

The single-beat, whole-heart scanner features optimized 140 mm coverage with 0.24-second rotation speed. Using deep-learning imaging reconstruction (DLIR) powered by artificial intelligence, Arineta’s technology enhances image clarity while reducing noise, delivering more precise and detailed cross-sectional images.
